Solar Eclipse--safety first!

Apr 08, 2024

Don't forget protecting your eyes during the eclipse!

The 2024 eclipse is nearly here! While we all want to enjoy this rare phenomenon, let's keep eye safety in mind. "Solar retinopathy" represents the biggest ocular risk for spectators watching the eclipse. Essentially, we can get a sunburn on our retina. Since the retina lacks pain receptors, permanent damage can occur in seconds with unprotected viewing. This damage can make our central vision permanently altered.
