Prokera-"Protect, Repair & Heal"

For patients struggling with recurrent corneal erosions, keratitis, corneal ulcers, or other frustrating corneal conditions, "Prokera" (Bio-Tissue) can help patients recover more quickly and completely than other traditional methods.

Prokera is essentially a contact lens constructed with amniotic membrane tissue. Prokera nourishes the corneal surface, allowing for faster healing. Prokera is inserted by Dr. Ballitch and typically removed around four or five days after insertion. When artificial tears, bandage contact lenses, or prescription drops are not enough, Prokera can restore comfort back to patients. From insertion of Prokera to removal of the lens, minimal discomfort, if any, is experienced by the patient.

As a Dry Eye Center of Excellence, Advance Eye Care Center is well-versed in treating complex dry eye and other corneal conditions. We aim to restore comfort and improve vision with the latest innovations available.
