In our eyes, there are naturally clear crystalline lenses, one in each eye. These lenses helps our eyes to focus light on our retina, resulting in clear images. Over time, gradual changes occur and the clear lens becomes more yellow. Additionally, the lens can develop cloudiness in different parts of the lens. Generally speaking, a gradual cloudiness in the lens affects vision the least, and cloudiness on the back surface of the lens affects vision the most. Fortunately, cataracts do not cause permanent visual changes.

If you have noticed driving at night is difficult due to glare or needing more light or magnification to read text, you may be struggling with cataracts.
