Are you ready to leave your glasses at home? Over 40 years old? Multifocal contact lenses may be for you. . .

Multifocal contact lenses help many patients over 40 years old each year. Multifocal contact lenses contain a distance and near correction in each lens. This setups gives patients more flexibility, as reading glasses are not needed for most tasks.

For most patients, 1-2 weeks are needed to adapt to this setup. The brain gets used to using either the distance portion for tasks like driving, or the near portion for computer work or reading.  Initially patients may notice a slight gray haze around letters or slightly smeared vision. Patients notice this much less as they get used to the lenses. Additionally, glasses will generally provide mildly crisper vision, since the bifocal and distance correction are located in different locations.

Advanced Eye Care Center helps multifocal contact lens patients every day. If you’re ready to decrease your dependency on glasses and see the world differently, we can help! Call 419-521-3937 to learn about our contact lens fittings today!
