For patients with at least intermediate macular degeneration, new technology is available to assist in monitoring at-home. For years, the Amsler grid has been the standard of at-home monitoring. ForeSee Home has been shown to detect damage from macular degeneration sooner than the Amsler grid. Patients using ForeSee Home were able to maintain at least 20/40 vision 94% of the time, compared to only 62% with Amsler grid monitoring alone. Catching the conversion from dry to the more damaging wet macular degeneration is the strength of ForeSee Home.
After Dr. Ballitch or Dr. Finn recommend the product, patients will receive a call from ForeSee Home. ForeSee Home will receive shipping information, inform patients how to install the device, as well as how to use the device, which is pretty easy.
