Glaucoma Awareness Month

Jan 05, 2017

Glaucoma is when the optic nerve is damaged, usually but not always, from elevated eye pressure. This causes peripheral vision loss in early stages and progress to central vision loss. With advanced glaucoma, patients are more likely to have trouble navigating their enviroments–both with walking and driving. Early detection is critically important to preserve vision; damage cannot be reversed.

Regular comprehensive exams are best at detecting glaucoma before visual changes are noticed by the patient. If it has been over a year since your last eye exam, call 419-521-3937 to get started today.
