Patients with macular degeneration should check their Amsler grid at home daily. When checking the grid, it should be a little more than one foot away and each eye should be tested separately (cover one eye at a time).
Checking this grid daily helps patients to detect subtle changes with their macular degeneration. Treatment for macular degeneration is most effective when vision changes start!
