Laser Floater Treatment
Advanced Eye Care & Surgery Center is excited to offer relief to patients struggling with floaters! Laser Floater Treatment (LFT)allows for Dr. Ballitch to vaporize floaters.Floaters occur when fibers in our vitreous gel clump together. Our vitreous gel is the jelly-like substance that fills the main chamber of our eyes. Floaters are most easily noticed against a bright background, especially after cataract surgery.LFT uses short pulses of energy from a laser to treat annoying floaters. Treatment usually takes 20-30 minutes and is an outpatient procedure. Many patients require two treatments. Following treatment, patients may notice small black specks in their vision, but theses are small gas bubbles and dissolve quickly.
