What is Low Vision?
Low vision is defined as vision loss that cannot be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, medications or surgery. One in every 20 Americans is estimated to have low vision. There are many resources and products available to help people with low vision live a full and independent life.
Dr. Finn works with visually impaired individuals to determine which low vision device works best for their needs. Some devices include, but not limited to:
- Hand-Held illuminated magnifiers
- Illuminated stand magnifiers
- Monocular telescopes
- Binocular telescopes
- Hand-held electronic magnifier
- Absorptive lenses
At Your Visit
At your initial visit, Dr. Finn will assess your vision. Based on the your goals and vision, low vision devices are selected. Several visits may be necessary for a complete assessment.
