Groundbreaking new technology comes to Mansfield!

This past Wednesday Dr. Harold A. Ballitch M.D., FACS of Advanced Eye Care Center was performed the area’s first surgical implant of the newly FDA approved PanOptix Trifocal Intraocular Lens (IOL). The surgery was successful, with 76 year old Sarah Davis saying she felt “just like normal,” after the two hour surgery. “I feel wonderful… It seemed like it was just 10 minutes,” she said. “I feel like I could go back to work today if he would release me.”

Serving the Mansfield area since 1992 as a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, Dr. Ballitch was thrilled to conduct this revolutionary surgery, saying, “The PanOptix is an amazing new intraocular lens. I am excited to be the first in central Ohio to offer this new technology.“ He continued, “The difference between the trifocal lens (and other previously approved multi-focal lens) is that it gives true intermediate vision.”

The new Trifocal lens has been long awaited in the U.S by surgeons and patients alike and provides outstanding near, intermediate, and distant vision to cataract patients. Patients can remain awake and may see colors during the quick and painless procedure, but experience little to no discomfort.

Local media was invited post-op to talk with Dr. Ballitch and his patient. Check out one of the articles in the Richland Source !
